Edmonton Stingers bring in Edmonton born forward

Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Stingers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announce the signing of Edmonton native, Adong Makuoi to the team for the 2026 season.
Makuoi brings past CEBL experience to the Stingers, having played for Saskatchewan for 2 seasons, most recently in 2024 where he averaged 16.4 minutes, 2.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 0.6 assists over 20 games played with the team.
In addition to his success in the CEBL, Makuoi has played professionally overseas in Finland with the Helsinki Seagulls where he averaged 21.7 minutes, 5.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 0.6 assist over games played with the team in 2025-26.
“Adong is a proven CEBL veteran and a quality piece to help bolster our front court for the remainder of the season. With him being an Edmonton native, we know he will play hard and represent the Stingers the right way both on and off the court!” said Head Coach and President, Jordan Baker.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity to play another year in the CEBL, but I am even more grateful that it is with the Edmonton Stingers. Being from Edmonton, born and raised, I was able to see the Stingers play while I was still in college and saw the success they had when they won their 2 championships and obviously wanted to be a part of that one day. It is also great to know that I am working with Jordan Baker and George Hoyt, two people from the Edmonton community who have had successful basketball careers in both coaching and playing in Alberta. I hope to bring some great energy to the team and try my best to help this organization be as successful as possible this season” Makuoi shared.
Makuoi concluded his NCAA career in 2023 with Tennessee State, where he averaged 22.4 minutes, 9.03 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 0.4 assists over 32 games played with the Tigers, 30 of which he started.
Makuoi is set to make his debut with the team on Sunday June 28th when the Stingers take on the Saskatoon Mamba in a back to back western conference matchup.
