U Sports Career:

Dimanochie began his U Sports career with the York University Lions in 2018-19 after winning the B.C provincial championship with Brentwood College in his senior year. During his rookie campaign he played in 17 games, starting 13 of them. He set his regular season high with 14 points against Windsor, helping him average 5.7 points and 3.5 rebounds on the year. In his second year, Somto continued his solid play despite missing a significant amount of the season due to injury. He put up averages of 5.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, including a 12 point performance against the Waterloo Warriors. After the COVID-19 shutdown year, Dimanochie suited up for the Lions in fall of 2021. His offensive responsibilities increased, and he dropped 23 points on opening night of the OUA regular season. He set a new career high with 28 points against Ontario Tech shooting 12/17 from the floor. Despite York’s limited playoff success, Dimanochie averaged a career best 13.9 points and 8.8 rebounds per game.
