Fifth Year Stingers Honoured Among Top Five Canadians

EDMONTON, AB -  Edmonton Stingers forward Brody Clarke has been named to the 2024 CEBL All-Canadian Team as one of the top-five Canadian players in the CEBL. It is the Toronto native’s first All-Canadian team selection after ranking second on the team in both scoring and rebounding.

“This is an extremely well-deserved selection for Brody,” said head coach and general manager Jordan Baker. “He has consistently been a top Canadian player in the CEBL and I, along with the Edmonton Stingers organization, are proud of the way he has performed this season. His leadership both on and off the court was invaluable to our team’s success.”

Clarke, a fifth year Stinger out of the University of Alberta, was integral to the team’s 13-7 record this season, starting all 19 contests he played in averaging 13.2 points and 6.2 rebounds. He put up 14 double-digit scoring efforts, cracked 10 rebounds twice and set a career high in assists with 9 on July 7th vs Brampton, falling one shy of a triple-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds in the win over the Honey Badgers.

On June 29th in a win over Vancouver, Clarke tied a career high with 27 points, also collecting 8 rebounds in the 107-88 victory. The night was further highlighted as he also became the Stingers all-time leading scorer that game, surpassing teammate Adika Peter-McNeilly who set the record earlier that season. Clarke would maintain the record for the remainder of the season, finishing with a total of 936 points (regular season and playoffs) in 74 games played with the Stingers.

Clarke has announced that 2024 was his final season with the Stingers, and along with being the franchise all-time leading scorer he also departs the team with the most blocks,  made field goals, made free throws, second most rebounds, fourth most three-pointers, and seventh most assists.

Clarke first joined the Stingers as a U SPORTS Developmental Player in the inaugural 2019 season, rejoining the team for the CEBL Summer Series in 2020 before finishing his career with three straight seasons from 2022-24.
