The Edmonton Stingers dropped a heartbreaker in Saskatoon on Friday, losing on a last-second shot to the Saskatchewan Rattlers.

Saskatchewan guard Alex Campbell hit a shot with four seconds on the clock to give the Rattlers a 74-73 victory. Travis Daniels had giving the Stingers a one-point lead with a shot seven seconds earlier.

The win gave the Rattlers a two-game sweep of the Stingers in the home-and-home series. On Thursday the Rattlers held off the Stingers for an 85-81 victory at the Expo Centre.

Campbell led the way for Saskatchewan with a game-high 28 points. Forward Maurice Jones had 13.

Mathieu Kamba led the way offensively for the Rattlers with 17 points, while Adika Peter-McNeilly had 15 points. Daniels and guard Xavier Moon each had 10 points, while Jordan Baker had eight points in the loss.

The two losses to the Rattlers dropped the Stingers to 13-6 on the season and fell to second place in the CEBL standings. Saskatchewan improved to 11-8 and clinched third place in the CEBL standings.

Edmonton concludes the regular season on Thursday, on the road, against the Fraser Valley Bandits. A win would give the Stingers first place in the league standings and top seed at Championship Weekend on Aug. 24-25 in Saskatoon.
