Edmonton Stingers Sign James Lull

Lull, 24, spent the 2020-2021 season playing in England with Cheshire Phoenix of the British Basketball league, suiting up for 30 games where he averaged 27.8 minutes and 12.80 points per game.

 

The seven-foot-one product from California focused on surfing before turning his attention to basketball. He attended Rolling Hills Preparatory School in San Pedro, California for three years. As a sophomore, Lull averaged 18.8 points and 12.8 rebounds per game, helping the Huskies reach the Southern Section 5A championship game. He averaged 15.4 points, 12.3 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game as a junior. Lull transferred to New Hampton School for his senior year and also a postgraduate year. He committed to San Francisco in November 2015..

 

“He gives us a different look with his size and skill set,” said Stingers GM and head coach Jermaine Small. “He is really excited to join us and I believe it will be an easy transition for both sides."

The CEBL is preparing for its third season in 2021, following the success of the 2020 CEBL Summer Series in St. Catharines, Ontario; which saw a record 1.2 million viewers across Canada tune in to four days of live programming on CBC.

 

A league created by Canadians for Canadians, the CEBL has the highest percentage of Canadian players of any professional league in the country, with 80% of its current rosters being Canadians. Players come from the NBA G-League, top international leagues, the Canadian National Team program, and top NCAA programs as well as from U SPORTS.
