Miller Re-Signs With Stingers

Point Guard Returns for Third Season
EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Stingers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Tuesday the re-signing of Canadian point guard Elijah Miller. Last season Miller appeared and started in 20 games, averaging 8.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game and holds the record for most three-pointers made in a single game.
“Edmonton is like home to me now. It was a no-brainer re-signing with the Stingers and playing for the best organization, and best fans in the CEBL,” said Elijah Miller.
Last season, Miller set a CEBL record single-game record by hitting 10 three-pointers on July 1st vs Saskatchewan. The record setting 30-point night was one of seven double-digit scoring efforts, including a 20-point performance to close out the season on July 29th vs Winnipeg.
Elijah Miller played his first season with the Edmonton Stingers in 2023, where he played 14 games before his season ended early with an ankle injury on July 5th vs Calgary. In those 14 games, Miller scored 120 points, and finished with 42 assists, and 36 rebounds.
Building on his success in 2023, Miller returned to the Stingers in 2024, playing a full 20 game season, recording 166 points, 89 assists and 57 rebounds
On the signing, Head Coach and General Manager, Jordan Baker said, "Elijah has been an incredibly important piece of our team over the last two seasons. It has been a pleasure watching him grow as both a player and a person, and we are excited to have him back again in 2025. He is a great ambassador for the Edmonton Stingers and a talented professional."
In 2022-23 in his final U SPORTS season, Miller was named AUS Conference Player of the Year and received All-Canadian First Team recognition averaging 19.6 points per game with the UPEI Panthers. His sophomore season the year prior saw Miller named to the All-Canadian Second Team, as well as AUS All-Conference First Team. Following that season, Miller was drafted 6th overall by the Guelph Nighthawks in the 2022 CEBL U SPORTS Draft, appearing in 2 games for the team.
The 6’0” guard started his U SPORTS career with UPEI in 2019-20. In his freshman year, he averaged 15.3 points and 5.3 assists per game in 20 games en route to an AUS All-Rookie Team selection.
Miller joins American forward Nick Hornsby as the second player to return to the Stingers from the 2024 roster, also entering his third season with the team.
Miller and the Stingers will return to the Edmonton EXPO Centre on May 11th to host the Calgary Surge in their home opener. Tickets are available for as low as $20 per seat and can be purchased online or by contacting the Stingers head office via email (tickets@thestingers.ca) or phone (1-87STINGERS).
