The CEBL's Single Season Scoring Leader Will Take Part in the NBA's All-Star Weekend

The CEBL’s 2025 leading scorer and Edmonton Stingers First-Team All CEBL point guard Sean East II has added another accomplishment to his name, this time south of the border. East II, now playing for the Salt Lake City Stars (the Utah Jazz’s G League affiliate), has been named to the NBA’s Rising Stars mini-tournament as part of the NBA’s All-Star Weekend next month.

“Sean has carried over his impressive play from the CEBL into the G-League,” said Stingers President, Head Coach, and General Manager Jordan Baker. “We love to see him be recognized as one of the top talents in the G-League and it is only a matter of time before he signs an NBA contract. His work ethic and character will allow him to continue to grow his career and the Edmonton Stingers are glad to have played a small part in his basketball journey."

East II has had a standout season for the Stars, averaging 17.7 points and 5.5 assists per game across 29 games. He posted a season-high 36 points against the South Bay Lakers on November 18, and has scored in double figures in all but four games this season.

This summer, East II started in all 25 games for the Stingers averaging 23.3 points, 4.8 assists, 4.2, surpassing the 20-point mark on 17 occasions and the 30-point mark on three. In the final game of the regular season, East II broke the CEBL’s single season scoring record with 546 total points. For his efforts, he was nominated for CEBL MVP and became the third Edmonton Stinger to be named to the All-CEBL First Team.

East II and the rest of the G League team will take part in a four team mini-tournament, where they will face teams consisting of NBA rookies and sophomores on Friday February 13. Former NBA guard Austin Rivers will serve as head coach for the G League team.
