Stingers Sign D1 Guard Rudi Williams

Hamilton Native Played at K-State, Coastal Carolina, and BYU.

EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Stingers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Friday the signing of 6’2” guard Rudi Williams. Williams will join the team Saturday for their home game against Montreal, having just completed his collegiate career this past spring.


"I’m looking forward to helping bring back another championship to the Stingers organization and the city of Edmonton,” said Williams.


Williams spent the past 5 seasons playing college basketball in the U.S.A, starting with two seasons at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College of the NJCAA from 2018-20. He then played one season at Kansas State, Coastal Carolina, and BYU, averaging 11.6 points per game in his NCAA D1 career. 


This previous season, Williams reached the double digit scoring march 22 times out of his 34 games, including a 28-point performance on January 23rd versus San Francisco. He posted a career high 31 points during his stint with Coastal Carolina on February 23rd 2022 against Arkansas State 


The Hamilton native will make his professional debut with the Stingers this weekend.


The Stingers host the Montreal Alliance Saturday June 17 before taking off on a 3 game road trip to the Eastern conference where they will play Scarborough, Brampton, and Montreal before returning to Edmonton June 29.
