Stingers Sign Shane Gibson
6'2" Guard Was All-CEBL Second Team in 2022
EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Stingers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Saturday the signing of 6’2” American Guard Shane Gibson. Gibson was named to the Second Team All-CEBL last season as a member of the Vancouver Bandits.
Gibson began this CEBL season with the Vancouver Bandits, averaging 7.4 points per game in 4 appearances. Last season, the guard netted a team high 18.7 points per game with 59 3-pointers made (third in the CEBL).
Gibson is an alumni of Sacred Heart (NCAA DI) where he averaged 17.2 points per game and 21.6 in his senior year in 2012-13. Professionally, Gibson has played with the Idaho Stampeders of the NBA G League as well as in Cyprus, Bulgaria, South Korea, and the top Spanish League.
The guard will suit up for the Stingers matchup against his former Bandits team tonight as the Stingers play in Vancouver at 8:00 pm MT.
