Brett Fraser Joins Edmonton Stingers as new President
EDMONTON - The Edmonton Stingers are pleased to announce Brett Fraser as the team’s new President, effective Sept.16. Fraser's been appointed by Lee Genier , President and Chief Operating Officer, Western Operations, of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL).
“Brett’s pedigree in the sports and entertainment world in Edmonton lends itself well to continued success in building the Edmonton Stingers brand,” said Genier. “We want to build an entertainment package that’s synonymous with the fans and I look forward to his involvement in doing the same.”
Fraser joins the Stingers with over 25 years of sports, entertainment and cultural industry experience and is currently a partner at Event Energy Inc., a live entertainment producer and consulting company based in Edmonton.
Previously, Fraser was Executive Director of the Alberta Jubilee Auditoria Society, and Venue Director for Rexall Place arena, among other leadership roles in community-based organizations. He was involved in booking and producing events such as the Juno Awards, Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMA’s), the Tim Horton’s Brier, as well as NHL, WHL and NLL games and various concert events at Rexall Place arena.
“It’s exciting to see where the CEBL is going and can’t wait to be a part of the Stingers organization who already bring a very high calibre of sports and entertainment to Edmonton,” said Fraser. “If the inaugural season and the team’s exceptional run is any evidence, the sky’s the limit for basketball in this community.”
