East II Named All-CEBL First Team, Ambrose-Hylton Named All-Canadian

Two Stingers Recognized With All-Team Selections
August 21st, 2025 (Edmonton, AB) - The Edmonton Stingers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Thursday that Sean East II has been named to the All-CEBL First Team, and that Keon Ambrose-Hylton has been named to the CEBL’s All-Canadian Team. East II, who was runner-up for league MVP, is the first Stingers player to receive such honours since 2021.
East II had a standout year for the Stingers, leading the team in scoring at 22.8 points per game, a mark good for third in the league, while also averaging 4.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists on 50/40/90 shooting. On August 10th, in their final regular season game of the year, East II set the CEBL’s single season scoring record with a pair of free throws to reach 546 points, breaking Teddy Allen’s total of 544 set in 2023. East II also set a new CEBL record for most points scored in a playoff game with 36 during the Western Conference Play-In Game last Thursday.
Starting all 24 games this season, East II surpassed 20 points on 17 occasions, and 30 on three, including a season high 35 on July 1st vs Montreal. He led the CEBL in both field goals made (202) and minutes played (741.5), ranked second in steals per game (2.0) and free throw percentage (90.7%), and finished third in scoring with 22.8 points per game. He also made 54 three-pointers, the fourth-highest total in the league this season.
East II joins Xavier Moon (2019- 2021) and current Head Coach and General Manager Jordan Baker (2020, 2021) as the only Stingers to have been named to the All-CEBL First Team.
"Sean is extremely well-deserving of his CEBL All-Star selection,” said Stingers Head Coach and General Manager Jordan Baker. “He was a huge part of our team's success, and his individual performances were incredible from start to finish. His leadership, dedication, and professionalism set the tone both on the floor and in the locker room, and his impact on the Edmonton basketball community will extend long beyond 2025. Sean breaking the single season scoring record in front of our home crowd is a moment our fans will not soon forget."
Alongside East II, forward Keon Ambrose-Hylton was named to the CEBL’s All-Canadian Team. In his first professional season, the Toronto native started in 23 games for the team, leading the team in rebounding (8.3 per game) blocks (16 total), and field goal percentage (64.5%) along with 13.9 points per game, a mark good for 3rd on the team. He set a team record with 18 rebounds on July 20 vs Vancouver, and recorded 4 double-doubles on the season. Ambrose-Hylton notched double-digit scoring in 19 games and set a season high with 23 points on July 17 vs Ottawa.
Previous Stingers to win the award are franchise all-time leading scorer Brody Clarke (2024) and Baker (2021, 2022).
“"Keon had a fantastic season for us and we are proud of the way he represented the Edmonton Stingers all summer long,” said Baker. “To be named to the CEBL All-Canadian Team in his first season as a professional is a tremendous accomplishment and we couldn’t be happier for him. This is only the beginning for Keon, and we look forward to seeing what his future holds."
Award winners are determined by votes cast by the league’s head coaches, general managers, assistant coaches, select league broadcasters, and internal media personnel. Team representatives are prohibited from voting for a player or head coach from their own team.
