Nick Hornsby earns All-CEBL nod to cap 2026 season
Edmonton, AB — August 20, 2026 — The Edmonton Stingers are proud to announce that team captain Nick Hornsby has been named to the All-CEBL Second Team following an outstanding 2026 season.
The recognition adds another significant achievement to Hornsby’s growing legacy in Edmonton. In his fourth season with the Stingers, the 6-foot-7 forward continued to establish himself as one of the league’s most versatile and impactful players, contributing across every area of the game while providing veteran leadership both on and off the court.
Hornsby’s 2026 campaign was highlighted by a historic accomplishment with the Stingers. During the season, he became the franchise leader in points, rebounds, assists and steals, cementing his place among the most accomplished players in Edmonton Stingers history.
Since joining the organization in 2023, Hornsby has consistently been one of the Stingers’ most productive all-around players. He has started every game he has appeared in for Edmonton over the past three seasons and has led the franchise in rebounds, assists and minutes during that span. He entered the 2026 season already ranked second in franchise scoring.

He is a tremendous teammate, a leader in our locker room and an incredible ambassador for our organization and our city. To see him recognized among the best players in the CEBL is something he extremely deserving, and we are incredibly proud of what he has accomplished.”
Hornsby’s all-around game has been a defining characteristic of his time in Edmonton. In 2026, he averaged 12.1 points, 7.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game. Hornsby also cemented his legacy as an all-time CEBL great by ranking first in CEBL history in total rebounds and first in total assists. He was the only player in the league to rank among the top 10 in both categories.
Beyond his on-court production, Hornsby has become a central figure within the Stingers organization and Edmonton basketball community. His leadership and commitment have made him a fan favourite and an important part of the club’s identity.
The All-CEBL Second Team honour marks another milestone in a Stingers career that has already seen Hornsby surpass 500 regular-season points and become the franchise leader in all four major statistical categories.
