Stingers 2023 Leading Score Rejoins Squad

FEBRUARY 27, EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Stingers of the Canadian Elite basketball League (CEBL) announced the re-signing of forward Brody Clarke as he returns for his third season with the team. Clarke led the Stingers in scoring (12.9 points per game) and field goal percentage (50.5%) in 2022 and is currently competing in Poland with PGE Spójnia Stargard.

“There’s no question that Brody will be counted on as a leader and as a contributor on both ends of the floor for us this summer. ” said Edmonton Stingers head coach Jordan Baker. “He is one of Edmonton’s adopted sons and I know he takes great pride in representing our city the right way. The entire organization is looking forward to a big CEBL season from Brody.”

Clarke suited up in every regular season game last season including the first-round play-in game. He notched double digit points in 14 of his appearances in 2022 including a season high 27-point high against the Newfoundland Growlers coming on June 30. Improving his efficiency from beyond the arc last season (35%), general manager Steve Sir expects HIM to be an impactful player on and off the court.

“We're thrilled as an organization to welcome Brody back to the Edmonton Stingers. He was a top priority for us as he is one of our team's foundational players on the court and within the Edmonton community,” said Sir. “His skill set and professionalism continues to shine abroad in his international career. We're all excited for a big upcoming season from Brody in the CEBL.”

“I’m excited to be returning to Edmonton this summer. It’s become a second home for me,” said Clarke, who spent 5 years as a member of the University of Alberta Golden Bears prior to his pro career. “Spending the summer months as part of the basketball community that’s helped me grow and thrive as a player is very special. We’re going to do everything we can to hoist that trophy again come August.”
