Stingers Sign G-League Guard Davion Warren

Texas Tech Alumni Has Two Seasons Of G-League Experience
EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Stingers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Friday the signing of G-League experienced guard Davion Warren. The Texas Tech alumni has competed in two G-League seasons, most recently with the Long Island Nets where he averaged 11.6 points per game in 21 appearances.
“I’m excited to be a part of the Edmonton family,” said Warren. “I’m looking forward to the loud atmosphere and great attendance by the fans and plan to bring the CEBL Championship back to Edmonton.”
This past season, Warren was an efficient scorer off the bench, playing 17.8 minutes per and averaging 11.6 points on 53% field goal shooting. Warren began his pro career in 2022-23 with the College Park Skyhawks, the G-League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks. As a rookie he played 17 games, scoring 5.4 per game.
Prior to turning pro, the 6’6” Buffalo NY native played 5 seasons of post secondary, finishing his career with Texas Tech. In his lone year with the Red Raiders, he started 33 out of 37 games, averaging 9.4 points and 3.0 rebounds. His efforts helped his team to a second place Big-12 Tournament finish, a 3rd place ranking in the NCAA tournament and a Sweet 16 appearance.
From 2019 - 2021, Warren attended Hampton, where he averaged 21.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per game for the Pirates in his second season. His play earned him numerous individual accolades including All-District First Team, Big South First Team All-Conference and Hoopshd.com Big South Player of the Year, and First Team All-Conference. Warren transferred to Hampton after two season with Olney Community College in the NJCAA.
Warren and the Stingers will return to the Edmonton EXPO Centre on June 2nd to host the Saskatchewan Rattlers in their home opener.
