Stingers Sign U SPORTS Guard Brandon Meiklejohn

EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Stingers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Saturday the signing of 6’1 Edmonton guard Brandon Meiklejohn to their 2023 roster. Meiklejohn, a fourth-year veteran of the University of Alberta Golden Bear, has been a member of the Stingers practice squad this season.

Meiklejohn recently completed his fourth season as a Golden Bear, averaging 13.6 points per game in 27 games while starting all of them. He earned a career high 28 points on December 2nd against the UBC Thunderbirds and reached 25 against the Brandon Bobcats on January 28th. 

A noted 3-point shooter, Meiklejohn has 191 made 3-pointers in his U SPORTS career connecting on 42.0% of them; these account for over half of his total field goals made (279). 

The Edmonton native will make his debut tonight against the Saskatchewan Rattlers in the Stingers final regular season home game of 2023. Limited tickets remain for purchase online.
