Taye Donald Join Stingers for Second Year

6'2" Guard Returns After Standout U SPORTS Season

EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Stingers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Tuesday the signing of St. Thomas Ontario’s Taye Donald. The 6’2” guard spent last summer in a Stingers uniform on a developmental contract after being selected in the 2024 CEBL Draft.


“Im really looking forward to coming back to Edmonton to start my professional career,” said Donald. “We had a great team last year and I'm excited to continue where we left off.”


While on a USPORTS development contract, Donald appeared in 9 games for the Stingers.  Donald spent one year in Kansas playing for the Seward County Saints in the NJCAA where he averaged 10 points per game in the 31 games he played there. Following his time in the NJCAA, Donald played three years for the Laurier Golden Hawks. He started every one of the 79 games Laurier played in that time, averaging 31.8 minutes and 18.3 points per game.

“We are excited to have Taye start his professional career with us this summer!” said Stingers Head Coach and General Manager Jordan Baker. “As a USPORTS development player last summer he showed tremendous work ethic and dedication, and we are excited to see his role grow with our club.”
