Adika Peter-McNeilly Returns to Edmonton: Stingers Re-sign Veteran PG

Edmonton Stingers • Mar 11, 2020
EDMONTON - The Edmonton Stingers have re-signed veteran guard, Adika Peter-McNeilly to a one-year contract for the 2020 CEBL season.

Peter-McNeilly, 26, joined the Stingers for their inaugural season in 2019 and provided the team with veteran leadership on and off the court. The former Ryerson University Rams was a clutch shooter and ball distributor in his first season in navy and yellow.

The Scarborough, Ont. product played 17 games (3 starts) for the Stingers and recorded 12 points, 3.4 assists and 3 rebounds per game.

Prior to joining the Stingers, Peter-McNeilly played four years at Ryerson University, before starting his professional career in Germany the past two seasons.

“I can use many terms to describe Deeks. Leader, glue-guy, but what describes Deeks best is a winner,” said Stingers GM and head coach Jermaine Small.

“He made winning plays and big shots for us all summer. Having him back, assures us that we have a player that’s tough with a high IQ, who puts winning first and foremost. These are all ingredients needed to win a championship.”

After the Stingers season finished, Peter-McNeilly went overseas to play in France. He’s currently playing for Lille Métropole Basket Clubs.

In 13 games (1 start), Peter-McNeilly is averaging 9.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2 assists per game.

The Edmonton Stingers will start their 2020 season on May 8 at the Expo Centre. Season tickets, flex packs and group tickets are now available via thestingers.ca/tickets.
