COACHES INFORMATION

Coach Information

• Please have 2 coaches available per team (1 to referee and 1 to manage the bench) 
• Register with your Zone Director. Directors can register teams via the Edmonton Stingers RAMP site no later than December 15, 2024. Please see the above registration instructions. 
• Please bring a whistle to referee the games. 
• Check-in prior to your first game to receive your tournament package. 
• Games will begin promptly at the start time specified on the schedule. Please be organized prior to the starting whistle to maximize playing time. 
• Communities/Zones entering multiple teams should do their best to balance the ability between teams. 

Rules of Play

• Gameplay will be 4-on-4 on an adjusted full court.
• Games will be 30 minutes long with a running clock. There is no half-time or quarter breaks. 
• Teams should consist of 8-10 players. 
• Coaches will “referee” the game with very relaxed rules. 
• Travelling and double dribble is permitted (within reason)
• Fouls are up to the discretion of the coaches
• Coaches should work to correct any infractions with an explanation to the player as the infraction occurs
• No full-court defense is allowed.
• Players must run back to their defensive end and not wait to attack the ball as soon as it crosses centre. 
• No trapping or double-teaming of the ball-handler is allowed.
• No blocking shots or stealing the ball while it is in the possession of the offensive player. Stealing passes while in the air is permitted. 
• Equal playing time for all players (3-minute shifts)
• No scorekeeping, playoffs, or championship games.

Tournament Information

• Each team will be scheduled for three 30-minute run time games. 
• Each player will receive an Edmonton Stingers Tournament T-Shirt. 
• Each player will receive a voucher for a 2025 Edmonton Stingers single-game ticket.
• Each team will complete their three games over a single 3-hour window.
• Games will be 4v4 on an adjusted full court.
