EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Stingers have announced a partnership with MyRadio 580 to broadcast all home games live in Punjabi. The deal is the first of its kind in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL).

“This partnership with MyRadio is going to allow us to make our game more accessible for a wider audience,” said Stingers Entertainment Group managing partner Tank Vander. “Our goal is to be able to bring the sport to new fans and new Canadians and make it known that the Stingers are for them as much as anyone.”

MyRadio is a locally-owned ethnic radio station established in Edmonton and is the largest ranging ethnic station in Alberta. Starting on June 2nd, fans can tune into the station to hear live commentary and analysis from  Amrit Atwal  and Ekamjot Mann.  All 10 home games will be broadcast live.

“ It is truly exciting for us to be the first to facilitate Punjabi Commentary in the CEBL,” said My Radio 580’s General Manager Gursharan Buttar. We have seen the interest for basketball grow within the community, and we look forward to bringing more diversity at the courts throughout the season.”

Fans can tune in to listen live on 580 AM, or online at MyRadio580.com. The full Stingers schedule can be found here.
